Although the rails of the Water Street crossing on the former C&NW mainline have been removed, the crossing signals were not. They will never flash and ding for another train, though (unless removed and reinstalled at an active crossing). These venerable Safetran signals are fairly typical "second generation" crossing signals on the C&NW, and would have been installed to replace the original wigwags or Griswold rotating stop signs probably around the late 1970s to early '80s. |
