Date listed as 1951 only. Postcard reads: Doubleheaded by two Kanawhas, the westbound F.F.V. starts out from White Sulphur Springs down grade, 1951. No. 2768 was one of a group of thirty 2-8-4's built by American Locomotive Co. in 1947.

Rev. Jonathan Spurlock General I've read somewhere that the firemen were prohibited from making too much smoke, so were perhaps leery of anybody with a camera. One publication suggested anyone with a camera could be considered a "black smoke man", providing evidence of too much smoke in the area. 6/10/2016 7:52:11 PM
