This is a 1917 Alco-Schenectady class K-4A Pacific type locomotive originally built for the Big Four (CCC&StL) as 6467, to P&E 62 in August 1946. No date given for this photo. Thanks, Rick.

Eric Reinert General This is a Peoria & Eastern (NYC subsidiary) engine. Their Pacifics were numbered in the two-digit series. The X-numbered P&PU Hopper in the background presumably puts this photo around Peoria, if the X means it's not to be used in interchange service. 8/18/2013 11:13:12 PM
