Harry Edmunds General Fred, it looks like an old ballast hopper. They used the hand-wheels to open the hopper gates and drop the ballast between the rails. Pretty primitive compared to today's solar powered remote controlled ballast hoppers. 9/11/2013 12:25:44 PM
