CNW 4-6-2 #505 - Chicago & North Western  Contributor's Pick!
Although an E9 wore the CNW #505 later, the first to do so on the CNW roster was this 1909 Alco-Schenectady built Pacific. It was an E class loco with 75" drivers and could develop a very respectable boiler pressure of 200 psi to feed to its 25"x28" cylinders. The engine weight came in at 260,000 lb and its tractive effort was a medium 39,667 lb. Unfortunately its days of service are fast drawing near as the age of steam is disappearing in the 1950's.
