| A long UP container train hauling ass through TX and NM greeted me on my arrival at Ft. Bliss, TX on 22 Feb. ’09 (I considered that a good omen). I and my WIARNG unit had just arrived there in preparation for our deployment in support of OIF when our convoy of buses and NTVs had to stop at the intersection of Hwy. 54 and McGregor Range Rd. (in Otero Co., NM, 6 miles northeast of the TX border) for a train heading northeast via former SP rails along the border of Ft. Bliss. I and my camera are partially visible in the driver's rear view mirror. I wasn’t really in a good position to try to get a better shot. |
