N&W #1459
Built in 1910 by Pullman in Lot #3804 to Plan #2416 as 26 seat parlor-1DR BARNESTON, 1 of 45 such cars built in that Lot; cars were delivered between July and August 1910 for the PRR. In February 1941, Pullman sold the BARNESTON to N&W, which converted the car to coach #753. In 1947, the #753 was rebuilt to baggage-coach #620. In 1952, the car was rebuilt for a third time, as storage mail #1459. The #1459 was retired and sold in 1969 to the Springfield Model RR Association, later to the Monticello RY Museum, and then to IRM. As a side note, Wayner lists this car as converted to N&W MofW #526474, not coach #785. For more info, see Robert J. Wayner's "The Complete Roster of Heavyweight Pullman Cars", Tom Madden's Pullman Project database: http://pullmanproject.com/Database.htm, and the "Surviving Pullman" thread on RYPN: http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=30187.
