But now, twenty-five miles later, Amtrak #3, the westbound "Southwest Chief," and just a mile or two from the end of its journey from Chicago - is now 45 minutes early! Todays train is arriving behind an interesting assortment of diesels: P42DC 132, P42DC 200, NPCU 90208 (the former F40PH 208) and F59PHI 455. 90208 is wearing Amtraks Veterans scheme, and was (along with 455) just released from an overhaul at the carriers Beech Grove, IN, shops. |
