Interesting detailed photo of a 1910 Baldwin built ten wheeler delievered to the St Louis Southwestern Rwy as it sits in an unidentified yard. Specifics - class F1, 62" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" sylinders, engine weight of 187,00 lb, tractive effort of 33,857 lb, superheated by the Cotton Belt shops in 1924. Ed Cooper General The 254 was the very last Ten Wheeler on the Cotton Belt. It was last used on the Sherman Branch in Texas. It was sold for scrap in February 1953. if this is a Missouri location the only places where there were turntables would be Illmo or Wyatt. I suspect this is an Illmo photo. 2/28/2018 9:37:16 AM
