Dropping the blade  Contributor's Pick!
I wanted to get the shot of BUOI splitting the semaphores, but a Conrail crew was working on the installation of new crossing protection. I backed off a few hundred feet, and got the blades, and the crew. The crossing here, Ayers Rd, previously had only crossbucks, and now would have gates and flashers. The semaphores would last another year. The roadway to the right of the tracks, and where the relay case is for the crossing protection, was once the LV Auburn Branch, which ran parallel to the EL from Owego to Waverly.
