SSW 2-8-0 #777 - Cotton Belt  Contributor's Pick!       
Nice 2-8-0 Consolidation built by Baldwin in 1923 for the St Louis Southwestern Rwy (The Cotton Belt). The fireman can be seen lounging in his window, probably waiting for a clear before hitting his duties again. Specifics - K-1 class, 61" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x30" cylinders, engine weight of 243,775 lb, tractive effort of 52,254 lb. The class was sold for scrap between February of 1952 and May of 1956. Unidentified photographer.
