C&WC 901
Glenn Monhart owned the CM&N 564 and the Atlantic Coast Line E3A 501. In 1983, Wishing to find a mate for the 501, Glenn repainted the 564 into ACL purple & silver with Charleston & Western Carolina 901 (there really was an original CWC 901). The 501 & 901 ran several fan trips over the CWRC, but the CWRC never used the F unit in freight service. Here, the 901 is south of Monroe with empty coal hoppers for the ICG at Freeport.

Andre Wehrle General These IC wigwags were perhaps the only crossings in Wisconsin ever to use the Union Switch & Signal Co. "teardrop" style bells. Sorry I never got to see/hear one in action, as I was about 10 months shy of being born when this was taken. 1/15/2018 8:02:21 PM
