AMTK 940, AEM7, 1985
Amtrak. Here is an original photo that I took of an Amtrak passenger train in Larchmont, New York, on 19 July 1985. Shown here is Amtrak engine #940, an AEM7 built by GM-EMD in November of 1981 and rated at 7,000 horsepower. It's pulling a six-car passenger train from Washington to New Haven, where it will be uncoupled and replaced by Diesels that will pull the train the remaining way to Boston.
