PRR 8960, BS-24M, 1964
Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 03 September 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #8960, a BS-24M built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1951 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. It is pulling an 89-car mixed-cargo freight train into the Hollidaysburg Yards, but the crew has stopped at the Passenger Station to get permission to proceed from one signal bloc into another. The caboose is #477964.
