| A freshly repainted BNSF 2887 GP39M idles with rebuilt and repainted BNSF 2567 GP39-3, a Genset and a faded Warbonnet congregate at the BNSF Galveston Yard. BNSF 2887 GP39M was originally delivered to Cotton Belt as SSW 781 in July 1965, to SSW 6681, then retired and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen for Burlington Northern as BN 2887 GP39M. After the BN-SF merger, this unit was patched as BNSF 2887 then repainted in H3 paint ten years after. BNSF 2567 GP39-3 was delivered to Penn Central as PC 7861 GP38 in June 1970, to Conrail as CR 7861 then retired on May 15, 1985, and sold to Burlington Northern as BN 2184 GP38, On February 19, 2016, it rolled out of the Mount Vernon, IL shop as BNSF 2567 GP39-3 in a fresh coat of H3 paint. |
