Here is a photo that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 29. Photo Caption: "The old westbound yard classification tower that was used to prepare trains for westbound dispatch from Altoona in a photo taken in 1962. The tower sat atop the passenger mainline tunnel in East Altoona." This structure was known as HOMER Tower.
