LI 0-8-0 #269 - Long Island RR
Fair quality original photo of the Long Island Railroad 0-8-0 yard switcher #269. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo. Although there was no information to be found online about this locomotive, Tom Beckett came to the rescue (see comment below) with Alco-Richmond as the builder in March 1924 according to his search in "Steel Rails to the Sunrise". After serving 27 years, it was retired in 1951. Thanks, Tom!

Tom Beckett General It's a class C51sa, built in Richmond(Alco?? I'm sketchy on my steam builders) in 1924, and was retired in May of 1951. It had 56" drivers. Can't tell location from this photo. Info from Steel Rails to the Sunrise, Ron Ziel and George Foster, 1965 5/7/2019 3:32:47 AM
