NP diner 463
Former Northern Pacific 48-seat diner 463 was used on Amtrak’s SUNSET throughout October and November 1973, and here it was on train No. 1 at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. This was one of six cars (CB&Q 458 and NP 459-463) built by Budd in December 1957 and January 1958 for service on the NORTH COAST LIMITED. It would become Amtrak 8049 in August 1975, HERITAGE FLEET car 8507 in March 1980, and it was sold at auction in January 2019.
