Built by Alco in March of 1956 (serial #81462). this loco poses for a roster shot for an unidenitfied photographer. After serving the NKP, it was absorbed by Norfolk & Western and renumbered 2561. Late it became Norfolk Franklin & Danville #203. Finally retired in November of 1980 (NI&M) Thanks to Butch Getz (see comment below) for deciphering the "NI&M" as Naparano Iron & Metal scrap dealers, a company that frequently handled scrapped locos, especially NKP. Thanks Butch for your help! |
