Union Pacific sleeper 1704 STAR RANGE was on a Seaboard Coast Line train at Jacksonville Terminal. The car was leased to the SCL and even had SCL lettering on the letterboard at each end. It had been built as 5-double-bedroom / buffet / lounge car LA GRANDE in April 1956 and was rebuilt into 11-double-bedroom car STAR RANGE in 1965. It became Amtrak 2253 in 1971, then 2233 and then American Orient Express PACIFIC STAR. |
