New Orleans Public Service streetcar 852 was outbound on the ST CHARLES BELT on St. Charles Avenue at Conery Place, where some track maintenance was taking place. Conery is between Washington Avenue and 6th Street. The 852 was wearing the window screens which were added to some of the ST. CHARLES and TULANE cars after World War I to protect riders from vegetation. It had been built by the J.G. Brill Co. in 1922 and was scrapped in May 1952. (approximate date of photo)
