| ATSF 5394 was the first Santa Fe unit painted in red and yellow (SPSF) scheme. Released exactly one month earlier (7 August 1985) ATSF 5394 has three paint differences not found on later repaints: white lettering (changed to yellow), four stripe nose (changed to three), and lower black roof stripes (moved up to under the D/B blister). This unique unit only operated a few months with this prototype paint scheme. |
