Built by the Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in May of 1896, it carried the number MILW 839. The loco was renumbered several times - MILW 401 in 1899, MILW 901 in 1901, MILW 301 in 1912 and eventually after this photo to MILW 20 in 1938. Original specs - serial #14862, 78" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, Vauclain compoumd with 22x26" & 13x26" cylinders, engine weight of 140,700 lb, modest tractive effort of 14,196 lb.
