How about that?? Spanking new!! This unit later got painted in the 90's era gray/orange, and spent a number of years as the Harold protect engine, specially equipped with MU couplers-the M 1's and M 3's had couplers that were more of a transit style, and would not mate with standard couplers-along with sister LIRR 101, ready to go into the East River tunnels to pull out a stranded MU train if necessary. It was one of eight units in this group, LIRR 100-107.
