Frankstown, Pennsylvania
Frankstown. Here is a photo of the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission's historical marker in Frankstown, Pennsylvania. It summarizes some local history, but neglects to mention that Frankstown was once in the running to be the western terminus of the Pennsylvania Main Line Canal/eastern terminus of the Allegheny Portage Railroad. For various reasons, it lost out to neighboring Hollidaysburg ~ and the rest is history! The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.
