Extra 4000 Westbound         
On September 8, 1941, Big Boy made its first run across the UP system. Behind the locomotive was an inspection car, carrying UP officials and inspectors. At Buford, Union Pacific Extra 4000 West stopped for fuel and an inspection. Obtained from Union Pacific Steam: Big Boy Portraits (Bush, Ehernberger)
