| A Southern Pacific hatch door on Union Pacific 652. Not sure which locomotive these are from but they are now on this former Missouri Pacific GP15-1 wearing the original paint from before the Southern Pacific rebranding of April 1991 after the acquisition of the Rio Grande. Somehow these ended up on this GP15-1 sometime between September 2012 and December 2012 when it was pulled from storage (originals were probably stolen). You can also see the number that Union Pacific originally assigned to this locomotive (1652) showing through the paint from before it was put onto the UPY roster. 1652 was also the number it was originally delivered with when it was built for Missouri Pacific in August 1981. This locomotive is still operating on former Missouri Pacific territory even after 40 years since the railroad's acquisition by Union Pacific. |
