MILW 2-8-2 #381 - Milwaukee Road         
This good looking heavyweight Mikado was built by Alco-Schenectady in July of 1919 as CM&StP 2-8-2 #8680. It was renumbered in 1938 to MILW #381 as seen here. After nearly 36 years of service, the loco was officially retired in March of 1955, just a month before this photo was taken as it sits in the scrap line. No photographer was listed for the photo. Specs - L3 Class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 320,000 lb, tractive effort of 62,949 lb.
