Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at the Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in November of 1948. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5508, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built in Juniata in December of 1945 and retired in March of 1952 after just seven years of service. It's stopped at the Station with a mail and express train, about to begin the climb up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.
