Conrail Quality Finale

NS 5424 the last NS unit in Conrail Paint has been slated for a Rebuild into an SD40E. For me a Conrail fan it was great to see this unit before it gets painted black. Long Live CONRAIL! At least NS has a Conrail Heritage but it is just not the same.

CR 6743 1984-1999 NS 5424 1999-2013

Sad day for me today as NS 5424 was brought in to the shop area for the strip down and rebuild into a SD40E. With me only being 4 when Conrail was split I never got to photograph Conrail in Action. So with with number boards missing I think that looks like CR 6743 about to be serviced now I'm dreaming.
