Sad day for me today as NS 5424 was brought in to the shop area for the strip down and rebuild into a SD40E. With me only being 4 when Conrail was split I never got to photograph Conrail in Action. So with with number boards missing I think that looks like CR 6743 about to be serviced now I'm dreaming.

Conrail had great looking power, great shot.
I remember the good old conrail days living in the detroit area. I loved seeing the conrail blue rolling through warren, mi. i would also get to see conrail in action in elkhart when my family would visit relatives. there was more gtw than conrail actin in the detroit area, but just something about the good ol conrail blue as a kid.
