During our last trip to Denver, I had seen this spot east of Greensburg and wanted to get a shot of a train here. I got one last time, but now was hoping Id get another chance. Just as I thought Id miss it this trip, this westbound rolled out from behind an elevator a few miles east. Some days, you win one!!

Grain elevators are often the tallest structures for a long way out on the prairie, hence the name. A westbound stack train rolls past an elevator near Greensburg Kan, on the ex Rock Island Golden State Route

Here's a better shot of the lead power of this cool UP SB which still has it's old crew and waiting for a new one. My next set of photo which I will upload tomorrow night will be from the 1980s and 1990s by my Grandpa B. who has kindly give me permission to post them
What a treat on a now gloomy Halloween, a trio of UP SD70Ms, a AC4400CW, and a Dash 8 are sitting at the Grasston Siding as lead power for this SB
Here's a shot of both UP SD70M #4799 and UP Dash 8 - 41CW #9482, they are the 4th and 5th units out on this nice 5 unit consist
Here's yet another shot of UP AC4400CW #7164 and it's the 3rd unit out on a 5 unit consist
Here's a back end shot of UP SD70M #4799, one of the 3 SD70Ms in this nice consist
How can you not think this is cool, to me, it is, I like the low numberboard Dash 8s on UP's roster and I only seen a handful of them and the best shots of one belongs to UP #9482
All five units in the UP Consist is in this photo and they are nearly elephant style, with UP #3926 being the oddball of the consist looking the other way
While the crew is waiting for a new one to relieve them, they test the lights of UP SD70M #3784, 3 times and I caught one of the 3 times. I also thought they were going to leave
The clouds rolled in before we went to Grasston and too bad it did, because I would have gottne some nice lighted up shots. This UP train is waiting for a new crew with the old one in the cab
