A mixed freight train is nearly ready to head west out of the yard on a warm humid September morning.
A set of road power is at the small yard at TVA's Gallatin Steam plant. The last trains to TVA Gallatin ran in 1997 due to complaints from the city about the coal trains blocking several major streets in town (the trains had to use the old Scottsville/Hartsville branch to reach the TVA spur). Coal is now barged to the facility and the TVA spur is out of service past the Airport Rd. crossing. Month and day are not approximate.

This picture was taken from the US 321 bridge. As you can see in front of CSX 130 there is the lead truck of Amtrak 47. By the radiator of the CSX 36 you can see the torn off cab remains of the Amtrak engine.

Not too often you see non cab-signaled CSX CW44AC's on Pan Am's SEPO/POSE! Here is SEPO with CSX 3180 - CSX 130 - CSX 3346 heading east over Cocheco River in Dover NH. They would be passed by Amtrak 683 which was not far behind them at CPF-241.

The gravel road is the Pennsy RoW. Where it curves toward the track is where the Pennsy ran up into the woods.
I had started walking back to the car when I heard their horn a couple of crossings away, better get back in position.
