Train 419-it ran to Buffalo and Toronto the days 167 didnt run, though this day'seffort still has 18 stack platforms along with its 112 cars-rolls west along the George F Highway and the Erie pole line into the afternoon sun. NS would single track this ten years later, and remove the poles. It opened up the shot, but took away one of the things that made this line interesting.

The open field at Hiawatha Road in Owego rotates crops. This season it was growing corn, giving the appearance that passing trains were just riding on top of it. Heres CP 419 with 112 cars and 18 intermodal platforms passing the agricultural splendor.
Ah yes, the moldy oldies. CP 5607 waits with the 5951,6012,SOO 4447, and SOO 2064 near Apache Plaza. The New Brighton/Saint Anthony landmark was being torn down at the time, and although you can barely make out the complex right next to the plow, this scene will never be created again. The rare move was the fact that this train detoured up the*Withrow Sub, which only sees the WC daily manifests and a CP Transfer One that runs daily. Photo scanned.
