Citation includes date of CA&E abandonment as July 3, 1957. This is incorrect. On that date, the CA&E suspended passenger service, but continued freight operations until June 19, 1959. The CA&E was given permission to abandon by the Illinois Commerce Commission on July 6, 1961.
