Norfolk Southern GP38 #2880 was built June 1966 for the original Norfolk Southern as #2001 (Southern Railway installed high-short hoods on these units upon acquisition) and later became Southern Railway #2880. Unit left NS roster and became Luxapalila Valley Railroad (LXVR) #2880

White flags indicating an extra train.....an almost forgotten aspect of not too long ago.
Nice shot.
Really nice photo. Lots of work on the hood. I love the white flags but still can't get used to long end first.
I don't recognize the name of the sublettering on the cab. I believe this unit is active today on the Georgia Southwestern Railroad. Great shot!
