Norfolk Southern GP30 #2557 was built December 1962 as Southern Railway #2557
Great shot. To the left are the car shops and in the background right are engines tied up. The local shown here would go to Dothan where the crew would take 8 hours rest then return to Albany. There were 2 "sides" on this run which meant when the local was arriving at Albany, another was getting ready to leave which meant 7 day a week operation in both directions. GWI now operates this line 5 days a week.

This is a very nice shot. I really like the long hood forward Southern style.
