GTW 4924
CN local lumbers past Lopas Pond at Heckrodt Wetland Reserve via the former joint MILW/ SOO rails at Menasha, WI on 30 May '14. The locomotive is crossing a small bridge which allows Lopas Channel to drain into Lake Winnebago. Train was heading back to Neenah, likely after servicing the Hilbert area and points beyond.

Richard Hopfensperger General Awesome scene. I have fished from that bridge and had to vacate it multiple times as the Milwaukee MP15ac working Menasha would come through. There used to be impressions of fish hooks pressed into the railhead there from the weight of the trains, and the tendency of the hooks to not flatten as a penny would. 6/8/2014 9:11:56 AM
Railfan 1981 General Nice one!! 6/9/2014 12:30:34 AM
T. P. Bruss General Thank you both for the compliments. Richard, there is a fisherman below the covered hopper behind the locomotive. The approach of the train motivated his relocation from the spot he was previously fishing from. 6/9/2014 3:11:26 AM
