| Five old unrebuilt Illinois Central Gulf geeps were stored at MAYS YARD, just west of New Orleans, along with GP10 8283. These were GP9’s ICG 9246 and IC 9242, GP18 IC 9425, and GP9’s 9342 and 9334. By this time, the railroad was no longer rebuilding locos, and four of these units probably never ran again, but the 9242 was sold to the Chicago Central & Pacific where it was renumbered 1742. |
