DMIR 2-8-2 #1313 - Duluth, Missabee & Iron Range
Description:
Nice example of a 1923 Alco built Mikado nearing the end of its service. It was originally built as Elgin, Joliet & Eastern #747, class N-4, but acquired by DMIR in 1948 and renumbered 1313. All in the class were scrapped between 1958-61. Specifics - 63" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine weight of 333,000 lb,impressive tractive effort of 58,707 lb. No photographer listed.
