I was not expecting to find the CSS heading into Stillwell instead of out of it, thus I waited until I could hear the horn to head to the crossing, and so I missed getting an up close shot of it.
While heading to the depot, we ended up accidentally running into CSS 2010 switching. Sadly this is as close as we got.

With the recent time change, the local sometimes runs after dark now. This was my first time seeing it at night. The reflective stripes on the handrails and running boards are especially noticeable with the light Im using to illuminate the train. CSS 2006 leads LHF and the Ex-L&I unit, 2010, trails.
In all my years of watching, and eventually photographing trains on this line, I had never seen one of the CSS SD38-2s come down this line. This day would change that. I was outside doing yard work when I heard an unfamiliar horn on the CSS and I knew it was one of the SD38-2s. So I jumped in the car and booked it to this picture-esque crossing to get a shot. With the very rare CSS 805 leading, and a nice cameo from 2010, this is without a doubt my best CSS catch ever.

I was just heading out of the house on August 1st, when I saw the CSS local heading towards LaPorte. Despite not having my camcorder, I decided this was an opportunity to test out chasing the local into town. I managed to catch up to them at the crossing over state road 4. Consist was 2010 leading and 2004 trailing.
CSS 2003 trails behind 2010
CSS 2010 leads the local LHF
CSS 2010 trails 2nd
The train reserves for a bit to do a roll-by inspection
Ex-Louisville & Indiana 2010 trails 2nd
CSS 2000, my favorite unit, leads the local with 2010 trailing
CSS AF3 had picked up a bad order(?) coal gon from NIPSCO and is now taking it back to Carroll Avenue Yard. It makes its way down 11th Street first.
